Ankle Joint Stiffness in Diabetic Patients
This device measured initial range of motion and actuated the patients’ ankles to mimic standard physical therapy practices.
Project focused on developing a device to measure the amount of resistance in patients’ ankles. It tracked applied torque for comparison against a control group. Upon completion of cycles, the device would remeasure the patients’ range of motion to characterize muscular relaxation throughout therapy sessions and track their data over time. I designed and manufactured the mechanical prototypes and coded operation routines. This project allowed me to apply my solid modeling and manufacturing skills, refine my soldering skills, and begin working with microcontrollers.
